So, I spent the day saying goodbye to Ecaterina. Today I went through and unlocked most of her LJ's. Go back and read through them, even comment if you want. Comments are always welcome.

| Poor Ecaterina |

So the news of Ecaterina’s death has already been heard by most people who read my LJ so now I feel ok with posting some OOC comments about it.
When it happened I was “ok”. I knew going there it was a risk but Ecaterina’s virtue was Fortitude and she had convinced herself that she was not going to allow “them” to chase her out of her city with threats. She worked hard to see that there was “protection” there for her, shields, but she was grabbled at the top of the first round and surrounded by a dozen attackers so there was little anyone could do.
There was one rules call fubar. When they threw her prone to the ground I was going to earth meld. The ST was going to allow it but then a couple of the players in the attacking group, an ARST and DST both argued that the MST had clarified that you could not earth meld when grabbled. Guess they were both wrong. One of the guys who helped narrate the fiasco had looked it up on Sunday and then wrote the ST on Sunday suggesting that the whole scene should have been rewritten because of that, but I told the ST that I didn’t want to. The die was cast, things were already in play globally, the MST would have had to get involved. I was ok with the very dramatic finale she had. Had she earth melded they would have attempted to dig her up, there would have been a slim chance in that that her protector could have then obfuscated her for fair escape. But even then, she would have just had to move to 4 Winds and then her story would just peter out.
I occasionally get misty over some of the responses. Andrew Rice’s email to Aroex really got to me. So did Rosa’s responses. Even Roweena’s letter made me misty. I am sad, I had created her at the beginning of chronicle so was almost a two year run. There’s a lot of history with that character and a lot of RP going on in tons of different places. If anything, I hope I get to watch some of the RP around her death play out.
So now I’m looking for a replacement type character; something mental or political that’s got a good deal of ties that would make fun to play at cons. If anyone has any ideas let me know.
Just no Invictus. I could not stomach playing with the Invictus in the NW any longer. |

| Despair |

Ecaterina walks into Rosa’s room and slams the door behind her. She walks back and forth on the carpet cursing Roxy, “Who the fuck does she think she is to tell me when I should or should not be concerned about my grandsire?”
After a couple of passes she drops down into a chair and brings her knees up to her chest, the despair that she felt from Rosa overwhelms her and she starts to cry heavily. In her tears is intermingled regret and despair, for Rosa, for the turmoil of Carlo reentering her life, for goodbye’s recently said, for troubles she can’t seem to fight her way out of, for losing the friendship of one of her favorite cousins, for being so close to be happy and just throwing it away. She just loses herself in the despair, letting the feelings of drowning in sorrow that she has been fighting for the last month just wash over her completely.
After she can barely see through the blood of her tears she starts to calm, looking about the room. She stands up and strips off her clothes, taking a long hot shower and then begins to pack up her things into the duffle bag. |

| OOC Annoyance |

You know, I need to bitch about something OOC’ly.
You know, just because YOU think your PC has the perfect plan and there’s no way no one could find out does not mean it is not true. Had some things happen this last weekend where people complained of OOC metagaming. I don’t think they exactly were saying I was doing that, because I don’t know if they realized my character was involved, but they were complaining none the less so an investigation was performed.
Cool! I didn’t mind answer Michelle Web’s questions at all. I can be empathetic and say if I was in their shoes I may ask for an investigation and best to just get to the source as quickly and as succinctly as possible. Took us all of about 5 minutes for me to answer her questions and she said she was satisfied, investigation over, everything is legit. The investigation stopped and was started in one night. The whole thing has got a good chance of being the death of my PC, but, that’s the way the cookies crumble some times.
That was Saturday night.
But what I don’t like is that I was talking to someone about something that should have some significance IC’ly, but they gave me this “meh, not really paying attention because I heard it was OOC metagaming and there is an on-going investigation.” This was from a person not even at ICC.
Huh?

I edited out some stuff because I clarified that this 3rd party was told this before the investigation was complete. Fair enough. But they were never told that it was complete and everything was good, and techinically, the thought it still out there and it's just annoying. |

Lesson learned: Becareful what you ask for, you may get it. So a few days ago I posted a comment that Ecaterina needed to start degrading her humanity and someone gladly took up the challenge.

Ecaterina stretched between the silk sheets as she slowly started to awaken, the sheets of her bed undisturbed from when she fell asleep with the rising sun. She lean over in her bed and turns on the side light, her eyes taken a moment to focus and then she sees it. On her bedside table is sitting a fish bowl with a red bow and a note. The note reads “Carp for Cat”.
